For over a decade, Professor Han made pilgrimages to well-known literary destinations while attending annual John Steinbeck conferences in Japan. In addition to more than 120 select photos he took during his visits, this book contains narratives on the sites related to legendary writers and poets, such as Basho, Shiki, Higuchi, Soseki, Hayashi, Mishima, and Kawabata. This volume will allow Japanese literature enthusiasts to experience the locations these first-rate authors have made famous worldwide.
