About the Author:
Kylie Tennant was born in Sydney in 1912. Her first novel "Tiburon" won the SH Memorial Prize in 1935 and she went on to write numerous novels and plays for both adults and children and won many more awards. Aside from writing she lectured for the Commonwealth Literary Fund and was a member of its Advisory Board. Shortly before her death from cancer in 1988 she campaigned for voluntary euthanasia.
