JACQUELINE ANNE ROUSE, Associate Professor at Morehouse College and Assistant Editor of the Journal of Negro History, is the author of Lugenia Burns Hope: Black Southern Reformer. BARBARA WOODS is Chair of the Department of History, Philosophy, and Religion at Hampton University.
