Also included are a bibliographical essay, an index, and a biographical section with portraits of more than 50 noteworthy Swedes, making this narrative account is the most up-to-date general history of Sweden available.

About the Authors
BYRON NORDSTROM is Professor of History and Scandinavian Studies at Gustavus Adolphus College. He is the author of Dictionary of Scandinavian History and Scandinavia Since 1500, as well as articles about Swedish and Swedish-American history.
Frank W. Thackeray is a professor emeritus of history at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Indiana, USA. With John E. Findling, he is an editor for the Greenwood Histories of the Modern Nations series.
