From the Author:
Most of my research and writings have elements of social justice. The social injustice of prejudice is a thread running through this book. It shows how easy it is for anyone to develop a prejudice especially if it is out of fear. It is a story of our times told in an easy to read style which hopefully strengthens our own perceptions to help us understand ourselves.I loved writing this book, making up a culture that resembles Pacific cultures and yet is not of any island group. The specific elements are all possible and have occurred in some similar ways in different places.
From the Back Cover:
The name says it all. This is an adventure / mystery story about a young girl who is just starting out in life as an anthropologist. She decides, for reasons best left to the story, that she must carry out her doctoral research on a remote Pacific Island. Unbeknown to her. this choice places her and that of a friend of hers in Hawaii, at risk. For the island group has a dark secret, one that the islanders do not want anyone to reveal, especially not a fair-haired, green-eyed visitor from foreign shores. This tale has excitement, tension, and intrigue told in a style that draws the reader into a strange, beautiful but frightening world.
