From School Library Journal:
Pre S--This relentlessly upbeat depiction of children having fun at nursery school begins with their smiling arrival and ends with their happy waves goodbye. In between, they feed goldfish, dress up, climb, paint, cook, tidy up, snack, nap, etc. There is never a quarrel or a tear among the seven children. The cheery full- and double-page watercolor spreads in warm tones show sturdy, multiethnic, appealing tots done in a lively semicartoon style, with dot eyes and upturned curves for mouths. They are extremely active and jolly. Each page has a two-word text with the subject "we" followed by an action verb. Mr. Rogers' Going to Day Care (Putnam, 1985) is more didactically helpful, but this, too, will be a reassuring, although perhaps not entirely realistic introduction to play school or day care. Children already in these situations will enjoy identifying with the familiar activities. --Pearl Herscovitch, Univ . of Calgary, Alberta, Canada
