The premise for SHIVER came while writing HOOKED. There is a scene in HOOKED where Aidan just jumped off the page. My heart hurt for him and my long time critique partner was quick to ask, "Please tell me you're writing Aidan's story next?" When I started HOOKED, Aidan was just another character. At the time, he could actually be the villain of HOOKED. But as he took shape, and I realized how tortured he was inside, I fell hard for this wounded soul. I had to know his story and I had to give him a happy ever after. I also wanted to tell a story of second chances, hardships, and the complicated dynamics of family. A lot of our hardships come from family and a lot of life wouldn't be as rich as it is without our families. A double-edged sword. Family is a huge theme in this book. So are things that have laid unforgiven but not forgotten.
