About the Author:
Patrick has a degree in Latin American Studies plus an M.A. in Maya Iconography. In addition he has a Ph.D. in the Aztec Gods of Pulque (pulque is the fermented sap of the agave maguey) This involved spending five seasons of six months each exploring villages and towns in the states of Mexico, Puebla and Morelos. However, having acquired the PH.D, he didn’t know what to do with it. Universities are not crying out for lecturers in the Aztec Gods of Pulque! So, in February 1999, Patrick took a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) course with the intention of returning to Mexico to teach when, out of the blue, he was offered the opportunity to get to grips with Footprint’s new Mexico Handbook – so he jumped at it!
