Reviews

Gr 4-8-This book about making animals out of socks, mittens, felt, paper, and other materials is narrated by the crafty creatures themselves. Wilson includes instructions, lists of supplies, templates to trace, suggestions for when parental help may be needed, and more. All of the projects are made from easily found materials. The "creatures" create practical crafts such as a cell-phone cozy, a draft blocker, and a key ring. There are pop-up cards and game boards (with rules of how to play the game), kites, and mobiles. There are tips on sewing and diagrams of how to assemble each creature. Full-color photos appear throughout. The book is a grand adventure for crafty readers, either for individual use or as a resource for classroom projects.-Cynde Suite, Bartow County Library System, Adairsville, GAα(c) Copyright 2013.
