From School Library Journal

YA?A light mystery-romance set primarily in Richmond, Virginia in 1891. Eve Sheridan correctly mistrusts her new brother-in-law, but she doesn't really know why. However, scenes change and readers see his malevolent greed and the violence of his cronies. It is up to Eve and her new friend, a Pinkerton detective, to stop the evil. While her questions of religious faith are present, they are not overpowering. The enjoyable story, fast-moving plot, and realistic main characters make this a novel worth considering.
