About the Author:

Jay Umble has devoted his life to the study and performance of the guitar. He has studied extensively with world-renowned guitarist Pat Martino, and has released two recordings which incorporate straight-ahead and modern jazz styles. He serves on the faculty of Bucknell University and Susquehanna University as a guitar instructor. Jay writes a monthly jazz guitar column for the Central Pennsylvania Friends of Jazz newsletter and performs regularly in Central Pennsylvania with his jazz trio and quartet.
