Hiroshige's One Hundred Famous Views of Edo, actually composed of 118 splendid woodblock landscape and genre scenes of mid-nineteenth century Tokyo, is one of the greatest achievements of Japanese art. About the Author
Henry D. Smith II is a professor of Japanese history at Columbia University, New York. He is the author and editor of several titles including Hokusai: One Hundred Famous Views of Mt. Fuji and Kiyochika: Artist of Meiji Japan. Amy G. Poster is Curator and Chair of Asian Art at the Brooklyn Museum of Art.
