In Paris in the 1930s, Schlumberger’s inventive designs caught the eye of such influential admirers as famed Vogue editor Diana Vreeland, and by the time he began working exclusively for Tiffany & Co., he was the most celebrated jewelry designer of his day. Over the years his extravagant and exotic designs of animal and flower motifs garnered a devoted following of celebrities, among them Elizabeth Taylor, Greta Garbo, and Jacqueline Onassis. Pieces by Schlumberger are still among the most popular sold at Tiffany & Co. today.
