Columba Marmion (1858-1923) was an influential spiritual writer of the early twentieth century. A Dublin-born, Irish-French monk, Marmion was one of the best-known and best-loved figures in Ireland, England, and Belgium. But his connection to the United States is special as well, for in September of 2000 he was beatified by Pope John Paul II for a miracle of healing to a Minnesota woman in 1966, performed through his intercession.
