About the Author

Mr. Henrique De Almeida holds a Masters Degree in Music Performance, and is a graduate of The Berklee College of Music with a degree in Jazz Composition. He has performed, toured and or recorded with Nat Adderley, Nelson Rangel, Jeff Narell, Ira Sullivan, Tiger Okoshy, Victor Mendonza, Danilo Perez, Phil Wilson, Baron Brown, Matt Garrison, Kim Stone, Steve Hunt, Dave Valentin, Bill Summers, Hilton Ruiz, Betty Carter, Willie Williams, Nando Lauria, Alceu Valenca, Gilberto Gill, Greg Hopkins, Bill Cosby, Brian Lynch, Ronnie Matthews, David Williams, Luciana Souza, Katy Webster, and Oscar Kartaia among others. His career includes performances, touring, T.V. appearances and recording through Europe, South America, North America and Central America. Some of his performance venues include New York Citys Carnegie Hall, The Paris Olympia, The New York City Lincoln Center, The Kool Jazz Festival, The St. Louis Blues and Jazz Festival, The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, The Montreaux Jazz Festival, The Breckridge Jazz Festival, The Aspen Jazz Festival,The Boston Globe Jazz Festival and The Hattiesburg Jazz Festival. He was a long-time student of legendary jazz masters Mr. Allan Dawson, and Mr. Gary Chaffe while living in Boston, Massachuetts. He is the leader of his own group "Henry De Almeida & The Brazilian Jazz Project:. The group plays a mixture of Brazilian music and Jazz. The band has a new record to be released in the Fall of 2005. Mr. De Almeida is also the co-leader of the Colorado-based modern Jazz band, "Cornerstone", with bassist Kim Stone (Spyro Gyra/The Remington's), and the Jazz Fusion group "Deux" with Jazz bassist virtuoso Kirwan Brown.
