About the Author:

Elizabeth Morrow (1873-1955) mother of Anne Morrow Lindbergh, wrote six children’s books and published an anthology of poetry for adults.

René d’Harnoncourt, director of the Museum of Modern Art in New York from 1949 to 1968, was the illustrator of three children’s books (two in collaboration with Mrs. Morrow) and coauthor of Indian Art of the United States.

James Griffith, the author of six books on Mexican and Southwestern folk culture, is folklorist emeritus of the University of Arizona Library in Tucson.

Margaret Eiluned Morgan and Reeve Lindbergh, granddaughters of Elizabeth Morrow, are both writers. Margaret Eiluned Morgan writes on statistics and management theory; Reeve Lindbergh is the author of many books for children and adults. They live, respectively in Florida and Vermont.
