Reverse of title page and dedication page lightly browned by news clipping from a Muncie newspaper showing Hamilton with Madeleine L'Engle, Hamilton identified as the Midwest Writers Workshop director, L'Engle holding her book entitled "The Summer of the Great-Grandmother." 149 heavy lightly browned pages, first book in a trilogy. DJ beneath mylar, dark blue on front with illustration of killdeer (bird) at top front right, spine very slightly faded to lighter blue, three illustration of dust jackets from other books in trilogy on back, each named after a bird on white back. DJ has very slight surface wear to bottom front tip, thin tiny tear at top front edge, light wear along both long spine edges and spine bottom edge, light crease at top back edge.
