Review:
'The great contribution the book provides is the marvelous illustrations that serve as windows into the journey of a pilgrim ...the images are nothing short of extraordinary.' --Church History
'With more than 250 evocative colour illustrations, most specially taken, all accompanied by informative captions (a task in itself) and an enthusiastic and informative text, this is a book to be treasured, consulted, and quietly dwelt upon.' --Art Newsletter
'It is engagingly written, finely balances the academic and the popular, and does not fall between the two areas. This is a valuable contribution to the literature of pilgrimage.' Colum Hourihane 'Being a Pilgrim considers themes absent from more superficial books on the pilgrimage, and the beautiful photographs and printed images by Marilyn Deegan are wider in range than is usual.' --Burlington Magazine
