Reviews

Grade 4-6-- In a clear and lively style, Mitchell relates just how shy and inept a student Edison was, and highlights his struggle to become a success. The development of the phonograph is given ample coverage, while the inventor's other major creations are listed in the back. A short bibliography and a dozen black-and-white sketches complete the book. Because the material is neither new nor an improvement on existing works, purchase and use will be predicated on the number of other titles available in library collections. --Sharon L.
