About the Author
Jim Arndt is nationally recognized photographer, with many books to his credit including Art of the Boot, The Cowboy Boot Book, and 100 Years of Western Wear. His work has been published and exhibited internationally. Tyler Beard is the foremost expert on cowboy boots. He is the author of Art of the Boot, The Cowboy Boot Book, and 100 Years of Western Wear. He lives on a ranch with his wife, and together they run True West Design.

A Cowboy Boot Biography
Cowboy boots can be a narcotic for the neophyte cowboy wanna-be. Boots from the dawn of high-heeled footwear have always evoked a certain sensual connotation that extends to sexuality. The beauty of cowboy boots is that they are genderless. They can be worn by anyone, with anything, for any occassion--or "with nothing at all." . . . And so this love affair with the "soul" of the American cowboy, forever ingrained in our hearts, continues into the twenty-first century.
