Synopsis
Pocket Change: Five Small Fables is a picture book written by Dawn L. Watkins and illustrated by Tim Davis. Can a rabbit outwit a bobcat? Does a turtle who is a hundred years old have a secret worth hearing? And who will dare to match riddles with the king of lions? The five fables in Pocket Change tell of alligators and monkeys and cheetahs (and many other animals) that do and say remarkable things. Fables engage young and old, teaching them to admire virtue, even as they delight them with the impossible antics of animal characters. These fables teach, among other things, the importance of keeping one’s word, the value of friendship, and respect for age.

About the Author
Born in Cogan House, Pennsylvania, Dawn Watkins grew up listening to fables and narratives, and from them she learned the delight and power of a story. Miss Watkins currently teaches writing at Bob Jones University and writes textbooks for Bob Jones University Press. She is an author of several stories, picture books and juvenile novels, including Zoli's Legacy for teen-age readers.
