This is just one of a number of these cartoon collections that I am selling on this site. Malcolm Paul Evans (born 1945) is a New Zealand cartoonist residing in. Evans' cartoons appear daily in three major New Zealand newspapers, The Manawatu Standard, The Timaru Herald and The Christchurch Press, and his Edna character, the ubiquitous farmer's wife, has been running fortnightly since 1976 in New Zealand's largest farming newspaper Rural News. Evans also produces cartoons fortnightly for New Zealand Dairy News and Dairy News Australia, During his time at the New Zealand Herald he was twice judged New Zealand Cartoonist of the Year, Evans left the Herald in 1978 and returned to the advertising industry, but continued to supply his popular Edna cartoons to rural papers in New Zealand and in Australia. Edna is a much put upon farmer?s wife who stoically puts up all that her intellectually challenged husband and the land throws at her. After publishing eight volumes of Edna books Malcolm Evans returned to full time cartooning with the New Zealand Herald in 1996 and was judged NZ cartoonist of the year in 1999. Ref W4.
