Death on the Pasture is an emotive thriller set in a Caribbean island, St. Siven. Greed, corruption and murder are at the highest levels of the political order. There are clashes between Jonathan Browne and Richard Lightfoote, the Deputy Governor and the Governor. Jonathan engages in a series of escapades, reminiscent of the typical Caribbean politician.

Fitzroy Lewis, ace newspaper columnist and Pauline Webster, Senior Customs Officer, have a long-standing involvement. Things turn to a different level of action when Irma, Pauline's sister, arrives from Casurina to go to the University of St. Siven. The Deputy Governor has a clash with someone in the Holiday Inn in Trinidad and this sets off a series of events that Jones-Hendrickson skillfully weaves together.

From the Author:
DEATH ON THE PASTURE was written such that I could capture some of the undercover issues that are prevalent in the Caribbean. The novel is a new thrust in a quasi-thriller where greed, corruption and politics all intertwine. My experience in writing this work was that it is not easy to capture all of the essential features of this kind of novel without getting too close to reality, even though the work is fiction on a fictitious island of St. Siven. DEATH ON THE PASTURE is part one of a trilogy. It is different from my quasi-autobiography, SONNY JIM OF SANDY POINT. That was purely reflective of growing up in Sandy Point, St. Kitts in the 1950s and 1960s. Death on the Pasture is an attempt to focus on  the reality where politics takes center stage.
About the Author:
S. B. JONES-HENDRICKSON is an Economist by training and practise. From his literary side, he is an author, novelist and poet, having written five novels and three volumes of poetry; one edited and two his own. His most populat novel is SONNY JIM OF SANDY POINT.

SB, as he is popularly called, was born in St. Kitts but he now makes St. Croix, US Virgin Islands his home, where he lives with his wife and two children. His novel ANDY BROWNE'S DEPARTURE was a 2008 finalist in the ERIC HOFFER AWARDS.
