Book Description Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. "Songs for Patricia" was originally published in 1951. The book contains a series of poems written by Norman Rosten for his young daughter, Patricia. When Patricia grew up she became an artist and illustrator. This edition which has a 1988 copyright contains drawings by Patricia Rosten. Norman Rosten, poet, playwright and novelist, is considered by some to be the poet laureate of Brooklyn. He passed away in 1995. This book was published by The Blue Star Press, a small poetry press in Brooklyn. The book was designed by Melanie Hope Greenberg. Louis Untermeyer, poet, critic and editor, writes the following review of "Songs for Patricia": "This is a book for adults, for men and women who are parents or for those who wish they were. It expresses the longing and the laughter, the multiple concerns and the countless fantasies with which a parent attends the growth of a child. It communicates unfolding beauty and an excitement which is close to astonishment. There isn't a mediocre page in the lot." This book is signed by Norman Rosen. It is in very good condition. The pages are all clean with no marking, highlighting or notations. Some pages have been earmarked. See photos. Signed by Author(s). Seller Inventory # 152
