About the Author:
Karl Purnell is the author of A Mountain Too Far, an account of his world-wide mountain climbing experience and travels in the Himalays which the Washington Post called an odyssey worthy of Odysseus himself. The author is a graduate of Harvard University with a degree in English Literature. He has been a newspaper editor and state legislator in Pennsylvania and was a war correspondent during the Vietnam War. He has written and directed plays and musical dramas about the Civil War which have been seen throughout the country. His recent novel, the Doctress, is the story of three female physicians during the Civil War.
