Tales from Mistwillow is the second anthology issued by RMFW Press. The stories were selected by an editorial board of RMFW's published authors.
Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers was founded in 1982 by a group of novelists who came together to provide support, market news, education, and access to industry professionals. Today the organization boasts more than 400 members across the Rocky Mountain region, with more than 75 published novelists in genres ranging from romance and mystery to fantasy, horror, and science fiction.
Janet Lane
Her Mistwillow tale, It's About Time, about the exhumation of a time capsule, is the first short story Janet has submitted for publication. She enjoys hearing from readers at janet@janetlane.net.
Cindi Myers
Her story, Amy's World, tells of a long-ago gift that helps heal the wounds of war.
Jeff Shelby
Jeff's story, Sparring Partner, was written because he thought Mistwillow sounded like such a happy place, he wondered if it might not be the ultimate destination for everyone.
Charlie Callaway
After seeing a shopping cart on its side at a bus stop, Charlie's mind went on a tangent and didn't stop until he finished writing his story, Full Circle ,
Sally H. Clark
Sally loves the inquisitiveness of children as well as their ability to believe in the unbelievable. Mistwillow's historical beginnings provided the perfect mystery for her story, Jilly and the Ghost.
Liz Hill
Liz's story, Mistwillow Days, grew from her own memories of New York City and her homesickness for the Rockies.
Jedeane Macdonald
Set in 1944, Jedeane's story, Bingo!, relates the first day on the job for Mistwillow's new woman fire chief.
Lauren Patten
Given innumerable possibilities, Lauren chose to tap into her pottery background to write Kilning Spree, a tale that explores some seedier aspects of Mistwillow's art community.
Anne Wilcox
In Death Lessons, her first published story, a young girl learns to cope with pervasive death in 1918.
Terry Wright
Terry's story, Return Me to Mistwillow, is based around an 1882 earthquake, the largest in Colorado history, and reunites the characters a century later.
Suzanne Young
Her story, Mistwillow Crime Wave, gave Suzanne a chance to write fictitiously, and with a little twist, about a phenomenon that plagues police departments everywhere--people who confess to crimes they didn't commit.
