About the Author:
Jerr Boschee has been an advisor to social entrepreneurs in the United States and elsewhere for more than 25 years. To date he has been a keynoter or conducted master classes in 41 states and 14 countries and has long been recognized as one of the founders of the social enterprise movement worldwide. Mr. Boschee is Executive Director of The Institute for Social Entrepreneurs, which he created in 1999, and is Chairman and CEO of Peace Corps Encore!, a nonprofit he co-founded in 2003 to send former Peace Corps Volunteers and staff members back into service on short-term assignments that match their professional expertise with specific social needs. He is the former President and CEO of The National Center for Social Entrepreneurs, is one of the six co-founders of the Social Enterprise Alliance, and was named by The NonProfit Times to both its 2004 and 2005 nonprofit sector “Power & Influence Top 50” lists. Mr. Boschee served from 2001 to 2004 as an advisor to England’s Department of Trade and Industry Social Enterprise Unit, and is also the author of The Social Enterprise Sourcebook (2001), which contains profiles of 14 nonprofits that have successfully started social sector businesses. He has served as a guest lecturer at numerous academic institutions, including the Said Business School at the University of Oxford, the Judge School of Management at the University of Cambridge, Duke University, The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, Stanford University, the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, and many others.
