Review:
The tales of two filthy old bums who knew it could be so entertaining? THE TWILIGHT OF THE BUMS is a hilarious compilation of stories about two elderly old vagrants and their witty conversations, witticisms, and adventures, quirkily illustrated by veteran artist T. Motley in a style that certain fits the content he's illustrating. THE TWILIGHT OF THE BUMS isn't high comedy, but it doesn't need to be it's a laugh riot and that's all that matters. Highly recommended for community library humor collections and anyone needing some humor in their lives. --Midwest Book Review, June 2008
Stan & Oliver, Frog & Toad, The Sunshine Boys, Bill & Ted, Bouvard & Pecuchet - but most of all Vladimir & Estragon - stand behind this book like defrocked priests at an inquest. Old Men Rule!, at least in the glimmer of a watery eye and inconstant heart. --Charles Bernstein, author of Girly Man
I cannot think of another figure [besides Federman] who is so essentially both a fiction writer and seminal critic, so much an American while still retaining a European flavor, so interesting a thinker while remaining a vibrantly entertaining writer. --- Jerome Klinkowitz, editor, Post-1945 volume, Norton Anthology of American Literature
