Born in 1925 to pioneering parents in rugged, unforgiving terrain in Territorial Alaska's vast interior. He was a son, a brother, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather and friend; a God-fearing Scot, loyal Mason, and most of all an Alaskan Original. He was the longest serving Mayor in Alaska, a Territorial Representative, Chairman of the Republican Party, Delegate to the Alaska Constitutional Convention, State Representative, State Senator, and Lieutenant Governor. His vocations also include undertaker, business man, theater operator, WWII Veteran, Oil man, and lodge owner. Married and had six children.
