About the Author:
Cathy Rosewell Jonas, author of Bringing Home the Mountain: Finding the Teacher Within, brings a unique perspective to literary non-fiction. She has been a social worker and counselor for over twenty years, and on a spiritual path for at least that long. She tells of her active and sometimes magical journey, sharing practical advice, techniques, and examples on mindfulness and keeping the heart open when living a busy life. Her sincere search for enlightenment inspired a spiritual pilgrimage; it led her to several retreats in the U.S., Nepal, Bali, and to the caves of the sacred mountain Arunachala in India where the great saint Ramana Maharshi once lived. It was there that a deeper inner journey into the heart began, and where she discovered how to use the breath to transform emotions, which lifted the veil to experience the True Self. She shares wisdom gained from attending retreats, studying with teachers of various traditions, and her own experiential insights. It is her highest hope that sharing her path will help others awaken and trust their own spiritual heart of awareness. Cathy is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and offers Spiritual Coaching. Her website, http://www.awakeningthespiritualheart.com, includes a spiritual blog, and a variety of helpful meditation and mindfulness techniques.
Review:
An exciting account that overflows with experiences and insights. Any genuine seeker should find plenty here to both inspire and instruct on his or her own path to Awakening.
