From the Inside Flap:
"TYLER!" he shouted as he approached. He was clenching his fists, having a hard time controlling his anger. Tyler looked up and laughed. "So I guess you got the message." "What are you talking about?""The message I left for ya on your buddy's face. Hey, you know, now I've beaten up every guy at your school." With an effort, George checked his feelings yet again. "What's the message--that you're a jerk?" "No." Tyler tossed the magazine down on the car roof and took a few steps toward George. "The message is, you can't protect anybody from me. Not yourself, not your friends. And if you don't back down, we're gonna see just how many more of your little pals I can kick around. I mean, I've never hit a girl, but there's always a first time." "You stay away from Allie!" George shouted, his voice full of anger and worry despite his intentions. Tyler knew where she lived, after all. If he wanted to get to her, George couldn't be there 24/7. Tyler's face took on a vicious sneer. "You can't stop me, and you know it. If you're too stupid to be afraid of me, I'll have to make you afraid for someone else." He stared at George, smiling. "Unless you want to end this. You agree to my terms, and it's over."
