Eric Franklin
Eric is a mind-body expert, movement educator and the founder and director of the Franklin Method®, which uses dynamic imagery, anatomical embodiment and reconditioning movement exercises to improve how the body functions. He is a former dancer who teaches his techniques at workshops and universities worldwide including the Juilliard School in New York, the Royal Ballet School and the Laban Center in London. Eric earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Zurich and a BFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He is the author of more than 20 books.
The health of your fascia affects every movement―it envelops your body, supporting your form, carrying force from muscle to tendon to bone, and storing potential energy. Just as fascia can become restricted and immobile, it can also be released and trained for expansive movement.
Add fascia to your imagery to cultivate a fundamental improvement of how you use and move your body. Learn how connective tissues complete your movement, free yourself from tension and experience your body in a whole new way with Franklin Method® ball and imagery exercises.
The Power of Imagery
Imagery has a wide spectrum of application and has been proven, in conjunction with physical practice, to be the fastest avenue to affect change on a cortical level―which translates into how your nervous system and body interacts. We can use imagery systematically to learn new skills, aid performance, reduce anxiety, increase confidence, enhance endurance, build speed, accelerate recovery from injury or heavy exercise, promote deep relaxation, and more.
