He served in the Pakistan Army as a commissioned officer for twenty two years, before retiring at the rank of a major in December 1992. He earned his masters degrees in English and Political Science during the course of his military career. Mr. Malik's abiding interest in the English Language has borne its first fruit; the flavor of this poetic Endeavour, however, lies in its tasting.
