Martin E.P. Seligman, PhD, is author of the bestsellers Authentic Happiness and Learned Optimism, among others. His work in Positive Psychology has been supported by the National Institute of Mental Health, the National Science Foundation, the Templeton Foundation, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Atlantic Philanthropies, and the MacArthur Foundation. He is the Zellerbach Family Professor of Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania and lives near Philadelphia with his family.
