From the Author:
Question of the day about Contemplating Eve: The Collected Works: Who is Eve?? Answer: Eve is the muse. The design on the book cover is just one attempt at contemplating Eve. My book is full of these musings, visual or written.
I explore just who Eve is through poetry about relationships, travel, nature and identity. I play with language, I use humor and I incorporate photography, drawings & watercolor all to portray an ever so elusive image of Eve. I celebrate more than 10 years of writing by publishing my work in Contemplating Eve.
About 13 years ago, I was published in a school literary magazine called The Odyssey and in a Spanish language literary magazine for a poem I composed in Spanish & English, entitled ''Ode to the Sunflower'' or ''Oda al Girasol''. Contemplating Eve also includes poems in Spanish and in English.
The artwork for the book was inspired by my poetry and generated while I took poetry, photography and visual arts classes at Brown University and at the Rhode Island School of Design. Other work was generated more recently during travel abroad and work locally.
I have a zeal for art & travel thanks indeed to my studies at Brown University, where I received a BA in Literatures and Cultures in English, and travel during my time at Johns Hopkins University“s School of Advanced International Studies, where I received an MA in International Economics & Development.
My greatest artistic influences are poets Amiri Baraka and Rita Dove.
I leave it to you to sample the poetry and artwork here and to consider Contemplating Eve.
