About the Author:

Leo Franz has been a lifelong advocate for children in the arts. This story is set in the haunts of his youth- the alleys and forts of the neighborhood he grew up in- partially to answer his daughters' question, "What was it like when you were a kid?" The story got away from him.

Review:

This book resonates like Alice in Wonderland. But at other times it feels like a Grimm Fairy Tale. The imagery that the author brings to life reminds me of the bedtime stories of my own youth. Add the illustrations and you have the making of cherished childhood novel. It will certainly captivate the imagination of the young reader.  PBR
