About the Author:

After an aggressively unimpressive youth, which did not include a cap and gown ceremony, Cheri joined the US Coast Guard. After her Honorable Discharge, she moved to Hollywood to indulge in all thing Rock and Roll. See also: Waitress See also: Bartender Though her band never made it big, they opened for everyone who did: T.S.O.L., Guns and Roses, L7, LA Guns, Jane’s Addiction, X, Hole, Descendant’s, ad nauseam. Cheri moved to Santa Cruz to get serious about her writing, and to keep herself in notebooks and number 2 pencils, because she does it old school, she opened a tattoo studio. See also: No viable office or computer skills. See also: No desire to get up early. It was her visit with psychic Sylvia Brown that put her on the correct writing track. She wrote the semi- autobiographical play Prey for Rock and Roll, which was produced by FatChance Productions in NYC and ran at the legendary punk club CBGB with Cheri in the lead role of Jacki. The play was then optioned for film rights. The movie starred Gina Gershon, Drea DeMatteo, and Lori Petty. Prey for Rock and Roll had it’s world premier at the Sundance Film Festival 2003, and went on to play major film festivals all over the world. See also: Cheri’s mom is very proud. Hollywood Trash and Tinsel, a mock-umentary short about the making of a feature film, won her the Best Documentary Directorial Debut Award at the New York International Film and Video Festival 2004. In 2011 she completed her second feature film, All American Gender Outlaw, which she wrote and directed. Addicts and Infidels, her first book, is a collection of poetry, prose and lyrics from the last few decades. She got tired of lugging all those notebooks around and finally went thru them, only to discover a book in the making. She is the co-owner of the award winning Lovedog Tattoo Studio, a proud parent, and a damn fine poker player. Her interests include cars she cannot afford and motorcycles she cannot afford. She is a proud member of the Devil Dolls MC, and still lives in Santa Cruz, Ca.
