About the Author:

The author, Dr. Kawaljeet, is the managing trustee of the Buddhiwadi Foundation and co-founder of the Buddhiwadi Samaj (Rationalist Society), along with her husband, Dr. Ramendra. She has done her M. A. (Philosophy) and Ph. D. from Patna University, India. Dr. Kawaljeet is on the editorial board of the ‘Buddhiwadi’; a Hindi quarterly published by the Buddhiwadi Foundation, and she contributes regularly to it. Her “How I became a Rationalist” and "Cultural prerequisites of freedom", a talk delivered in the 14th IHEU World Congress held at Mumbai in January 1999, are available on the internet. Her name figures in the Celebrity Atheist list.
