RayAnne Dahl goes fishing for a different life, catching much more than she’d bargained for....

Having fled the testosterone-soaked world of pro fishing to finally settle in her Minneapolis fixer-upper, thirty-something RayAnne unexpectedly lands at the helm of the first all-women fishing and talk show. Between her dad's falling off the wagon, unwanted advice from Mom—a life coach to the menopausal rich—and her clingy dog, she needs the advice of her beloved grandmother more than ever.

With the show’s surprise success, producers press for celebrity appearances, but fans tweet support for RayAnne and her quirky guests, real women with unique stories and something to say. And though handsome Hal tempts RayAnne, he is a sponsor, rocketing him to the top of her don’ts list.

Just when she’s shedding uncertainty, RayAnne’s world nearly capsizes, and she’s faced with gut-wrenching choices. Will she live by the rules, or by her heart?

Review:

“A laugh-out-loud debut. You'll wish you could spend an afternoon fishing with RayAnne, but diving into this witty, charming novel is the next best thing.” —Sarah Pekkanen, internationally bestselling author of Things You Won’t Say

“Poignant and honest, funny and wise, Fishing with RayAnne is a novel to cherish. I took it with me everywhere, like a new friend, and was sorry to say goodbye. Populated with authentic and engaging characters, written with style and ease, this novel taught me that happiness can be found down unexpected paths, and that the meaning of life exists in the simplest of things. I loved every moment I spent with this delightfully witty, refreshingly progressive read.” —Marissa Stapley, bestselling author of Mating for Life

Fishing with RayAnne breaks the talk show mold...Her bluntness and humor win the hearts of viewers and soon the show becomes a ratings success story.” —The Reading Room

“In this charmer of a novel, Ava Finch (Minnesota author Sarah Stonich) introduces us to RayAnne Dahl, a thirty-something fishing pro who finds herself at the helm of public television’s first talk show that’s centered around fishing. Or, as one viewer’s husband calls it, ‘Oprah in a boat’...The best part about Fishing with RayAnne is that Finch has written a lighthearted, comedic novel for women that isn’t all about landing a man (fishing pun intended). It’s about the delicate balance of loving the crazy family you’ve been given, making a difference in the lives of others, and knowing that even if it feels like it sometimes, we’re not in this life alone.” —Minneapolis Star-Tribune

Fishing with RayAnne is a compelling and deftly crafted novel from beginning to end.” —Midwest Book Review

Fishing with RayAnne moves as fast as [the protagonist’s boat] Penelope when RayAnne opens the motor full throttle. That's because most of it is told in spot-on, often hilarious dialogue that brings these nice people to lively, lovely life.” —St. Paul Pioneer Press

“Finch’s skills are top notch...Recommended for readers who appreciate female characters, family drama, an absorbing sense of place, and, of course, fishing.” —Library Journal

“While the majority of Fishing is lighthearted fun, the real gem of this novel is its honest depiction of family dynamics. Fishing shows the reader that dysfunction doesn’t necessarily equate with misery; it is possible not only to accept, but also enjoy one’s family, warts and all. The story demands a sequel.” —The Roanoke Times
