Spanning more than a decade, it revolves around my friendship with Turtle, who became addicted to meth when he was seventeen. About the Author:

Joseph William Simmons was born in 1981. He graduated from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in 2004 with a Bachelors in Film Studies with minors in Asian Studies, Japanese, and theatre. In 2006 he received a teaching job overseas and moved to Shinkamigoto, Japan. He lived there for 3 years until he returned to the United States and published his first memoir, The Asia Diaries. After attending graduate school and receiving an MFA in Creative Writing, he finished and now published his second memoir, Memories of Turtle. He currently resides in Omaha.
