Synopsis

In the waning days of his Governorship, Simon Pack learns he did not leave the Upper Yaak Valley of Montana in sound health. Main characters from the previous Pack novels are still here, but they are joined by a host of quirky new ones, including a lazy minister; a brilliant, exotic Asian lady and her evil boyfriend; Pack’s love interest, Keeley Eliopoulous; a crooked game warden who colludes with a County Sheriff; Tetu’s fiancée, Swan Threemoons; an honest Forest Ranger, Ranklin Shiningfish; and a 90-year-old man who in many ways is pivotal to solving the problems Pack faces.

About the Author:

John M. Vermillion graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point before embarking on a twenty-five year career in the US Army, retiring as an Infantry Colonel. After his service, he spent a decade working overseas in a variety of quasi-military positions, including time spent in Germany, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Croatia, Bosnia, and Iraq. Vermillion served as a platoon leader in Vietnam and an English teacher at West Point. He is a graduate of the Army Airborne and Ranger programs, the School of Advanced Military Studies, and the National War College.
