Avarice and hatred between the partners of a biotech firm lead to murder – and to a possible pandemic of Creutzfeld-Jacobs disease in this riveting thriller that begins in a placid North American suburb and ends on the high seas on the morning of 9/11. Ex-CIA, Mossad and SAS men are pitted against Latin America stringers for Al Qaeda in a race against time, when it becomes clear that an innocuous incident involving surgical glue derived from cow blood has led to the generation of a weapon of mass destruction. Fatal Greed is about an underground world that most of us will never know, a world of easily-bought passports and citizenships of convenience, secret offshore banking with numbered and coded accounts, anonymous bearer share certificates, and unparalleled moral turpitude. When its surface ruptures it threatens to engulf civil society like a tidal wave. This is an entirely plausible tale.

About the Author:
Born in Budapest, Hungary, on the eve of World War II, Robert Landori had an unsettled youth. Before he was ten he witnessed the German invasion of his homeland, and saw his friends being dragged away by the SS into the maw of the Holocaust. He later became separated from his family and almost starved to death at the end of the war, only to be saved when the Red Army press-ganged him into one of its units removing dead bodies from the streets of the capital in exchange for a daily meal of bean soup and bread. Ironically, though the Russian army rescued him from starvation, its political masters subsequently stripped his parents of all they possessed. By the time the communists threw the family out of their own country in 1947, this thirteen year-old had experienced more fear and terror than most ever see in a lifetime. Yet he showed no exterior signs of the trauma, and, after a stint as jazzman Sydney Bechet's backup drummer on the French Riviera, went on to become a business professional—and also an international man of intrigue, whose rage at what had befallen him, and quest for justice, remain unchecked.Robert Landori was for most of his professional life a senior public accountant and Mergers and Aquisitions specialist. But he was also an adventurer whose work led him to travel widely for twenty years throughout South America and the Caribbean, where he came into contact with international financiers, notorious con men, well-known artists and entertainers... and members of several countries' intelligence communities. He also developed a highly-charged and double-edged relationship with Castro's Cuba and was at one point held in solitary confinement for over two months by Fidel's notorious G2—the state security apparatus—on trumped-up espionage charges. He was eventually freed and later became a security consultant.
