About the Author:
Martin Springett, originally from Crayford in Kent, England, currently resides in Toronto, Ontario. A children's illustrator for over ten years, Martin has been nominated for the Governor General's Literary Award for Illustration (for Who), has won the Aurora Award for Artistic Achievement, and has received two Silver Awards from the Art Directors Club of Toronto. Other children’s titles he has illustrated include Mei Ming and the Dragon's Daughter, Witch What & the Wye of Time, The Wise Old Woman, Too Many Suns, and The Night Walker.

One bright summer morning Princess Miranda decided to go riding. She told her groom Matthew to saddle up Thistle, her favourite horse and call for Pip her hunting hound.
“I wouldn’t go riding today if I were you my lady,” said Matthew, “there be rumours about that Golmogog the Great Golden Dragon has returned!”
“Pish posh!” said Miranda. “I don’t care about a silly old dragon.”
“He may be old, but he isn’t silly and he’s big! Why you and that horse of yours could disappear up his left nostril.”
“I don’t care,” said Miranda, “I will have my right and no Dragon, big or small, is going to stop me!”
