Ian Kirby is a British trained furnituremaker. He began his training with the Edward Barnsley workshops and went on to study wood science and technology and enrolled in the four-year design program to Leeds College of Art. He did his graduate work at the London School of Furniture. He has written 5 woodworking books and is a frequent contributor to Woodworker's Journal as well as Fine Woodworking. He lives in Milford, Connecticut.
