Not satisfied with this work, the nun heard God directing her to help the poor and, as a result, she left the convent and entered the slums of Calcutta. The book gives readers a glimpse at some of the work Mother Teresa did there, such as creating schools, giving medical treatment, and establishing places for the terminally ill to die in peace. Soft, realistic, full-page art appears on each spread, suitably complementing the text. Although there are many biographies of Mother Teresa, this one stands out as an inviting and inspiring beginning reader.
