About the Author:
Kimberly Mohne Hill received her MFA in Acting from the prestigious American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, CA where she subsequently apprenticed with master dialectician, Deborah Sussel. A native of the SF Bay area, Kimberly has been acting, teaching, directing and dialect coaching for over twenty years. Kimberly served on the faculty at A.C.T. in the Young Conservatory, Studio A.C.T. and the Master of Fine Acts at Santa Clara University. Along with teaching, directing and dialect coaching at SCU, Kimberly continues to act, direct and coach off-campus. Some exiting dialect projects she has recently coached include a Chennai, Indian Dialect, a New Castle, England, coal miner's dialect, multiple British and Irish dialects, and an interesting Middle-East/Saudi dialect for a new play. The study of dialects and regionalism continues to inspire Ms. Hill and she is excited to share her work with you in this fabulous and challenging collection of monologues!
Review:
The Monologues are great choices for actors either learning a dialect or who need to present one for an audition. The games take a lot of the fear of 'doing it right" out of early exploration. I have added to the book to my syllabus as highly recommended and often use the work in my teaching. --Lester Thomas Shane, Adjunct Professor, Pace University
Looking over the content of this new volume makes my heart sing, for she has continued her own personal quest to find the finest dramatic literature for her own work and now makes it available in this exciting Volume II. I consider her volume THE source for dialect work with young people. You won't be disappointed! --Craig Slaight, Resident Artist, Director, Young Conservatory, American Conservatory Theater
