At Wapen, weird verses, mostly corruptions of Shakespeare or John Donne, mysteriously appear on a university website and dramatically stimulate her memory. She remembers some of the more obscure lines in the verses from the research she was doing at Oxford. However, only two other people know about them: her allegedly dead brother and her missing nuclear physicist husband, Robert Bofsky. One of them, she believes, must be trying to communicate with her via the verses. But which one and why?
