About the Author:
Robert Blair is at the University of British Columbia, Canada.
From AudioFile:
If you plan to learn French in three hours, you're optimistic. But if you want to have fun learning a few introductory phrases and basic vocabulary, jump right in. Dr. Blair uses outlandish and silly conversations never heard in real life. During this program, the listener navigates through a spy mission having to do with cosmetics and scrambled eggs. The instructors' vocal characteristics and diction make the French understandable, although their English is sometimes indecipherable. The course explains basic grammar principles but leaves the masculine/feminine articles in vocabulary words to chance. A CD that opens in Internet Explorer offers additional learning opportunities.
