About the Author:

Lily Whyte was born in a district in Glasgow in 1931 and educated initially at Paisley Grammar School. When her family moved to Troon in Ayrshire she continued her education at Marr College. After her marriage in 1960 she moved to Inverness where her two sons were born. Their next home was in Dumfries; then finally, because of her husband's work, they settled in Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire.
