The first part of this work introduces the various Spreads used in the creation of the Charts relevant to the Card System. This System has gone through many changes since its first publication in 1893 by Olney H. Richmond, both in style of presentation and in the methodology of interpretation. Like all good systems, the original is being constantly reworked and improved.

It should be noted that the Card Symbol data and their positions in these Tables are fixed as far as creating the Birthcharts, Progressed Charts, etc. But, it is really important to remember that there is no one right way to interpret the Symbol information once extracted from these Spreads. The early students of this System were made to learn these Spreads very thoroughly, especially the Pure and Life Spreads, as all the Age Spreads work "by overlay" over these two. However, in this modern age it is a problem to be remembering so much information, so I have now published the Spreads with the underlying Pure and Life Spread Cards added to each position to facilitate the Readings. For those who are using certain of the earlier teachings of this System, I have also included a Table to compute the 52-Day Cycles of Periodicity.
Further information on this subject will be published in a forthcoming work. The second part of this work introduces the Card Titles from my own research into the meanings of the Card Symbols. Including information from the Suits, Numbers, the positions in the Spreads and other sources. As mentioned before, this System is constantly being reworked and updated. Study the information, develop your own interpretations, come to your own conclusions, and you will be amazed at the knowledge about individuals and the predictive power contained within this System.
I was born 2/12/43 (King of Diamonds) in London, England, where, in the late 1950's and early 1960's, I began my studies into the "old school" Astrology, Numerology, Esoteric Disciplines, and general Metaphysical subjects, which I continued through the early 1970's. In 1975, I was introduced to the source material that has developed into the Astro-Cards System by one of Edith Randall's pupils, while she was in London. Shortly after this, I moved to the U.S. and was introduced to the more modern thinkers and the latest developments in the fields of Astrology and other related occult / mantic systems.
I was immediately drawn to this Card System and once I had settled in San Francisco in late 1975, I began an intensive study of the only two books then available - "The Mystic Test Book" by Olney H. Richmond, and the "Sacred Symbols of the Ancients" by Edith L. Randall and Florence Evylinn Campbell, M.A.
My studies continued on for nearly four years with my finding no one else who had even heard of this System. Fortunately, that allowed me to avoid the indoctrination of the existing teachings and dogma which left me free to examine the material with a fresh and open viewpoint. My Card System studies were and are coupled with extensive researches into everything from Ancient Mythology to the latest studies and developments in the Astrological fields. From these studies and researches came the creation and publication of my version of this System which I call, Astro- Cards, based on what I truly believe the Playing Cards to be, a total and complete Astrological Databank.
These studies have also opened other avenues of research, some of which I am publishing along with this System. Some of these publications are directly linked to this System, while others come from peripheral developments, and yet others are just provided due to their rarity or importance of information. All my works are created to provide "food for thought" so that you may learn to establish your own understanding and methodologies for personal enlightenment and self-improvement.
